Frederick is a student whose curiosity and drive have shaped a clear path toward a future in technology. While working on his GED, Frederick enrolled in our NorthStar Digital Literacy class, where his interest in computers quickly stood out. He passed all five digital literacy assessments and earned the South Carolina Digital Literacy Certificate—an accomplishment that opened new doors and built his confidence.
After completing his GED, Frederick set his sights on a career in cybersecurity. He has already interviewed for an IT Helpdesk and computer support position while he continues working toward his cybersecurity certifications. He credits the NorthStar class for strengthening his computer skills, especially his understanding of Mac operating systems.
Frederick’s commitment has also inspired his family—he even encouraged his mother to enroll in English classes at GLA. When speaking about her son, she beamed with pride, and we share that pride with her.
